What you are actually talking to

This is AvA running live, not a scripted demo reel. The audio goes over WebRTC to the same voice pipeline that answers calls for businesses using AvA in production — speech recognition, the assistant reasoning about what you said, and speech synthesis back, in a loop fast enough to feel like a conversation rather than a series of turns.

Nothing is pre-recorded and nothing is on rails. If you ask it something unexpected, you will get an unrehearsed answer, including the occasional wrong one. That is the honest version of what voice AI is like today, and it is more useful to hear than a polished video.

What to try

Most voice demos survive a friendly question and fall apart on a real one. These are the things worth testing, because they are what separates a usable assistant from a party trick:

  • Interrupt it mid-sentence. Start talking while it is still speaking. A real conversation needs the assistant to stop and listen, not finish its paragraph first.
  • Refer back to something. Tell it your name, talk about something else, then ask what your name is. Holding context across turns is where scripted bots break.
  • Change your mind. Ask for one thing, then say “actually, no — do this instead.” Correction mid-task is normal in speech and rare in demos.
  • Ask something it should not know. An assistant that admits the limit is more useful in production than one that invents an answer confidently.

How it works

Your browser opens a WebRTC connection and streams microphone audio directly, rather than recording a clip and uploading it. That is what keeps the delay short enough to interrupt: the assistant is processing while you are still speaking, not after you stop. The same pipeline is available through the AvA SDK and API, so what you hear here is what you would be building on.

Questions

Do I need an account to try this?

+

No. The demo runs in your browser with no signup and nothing to install. You grant microphone access, and that is the only permission involved.

Is my conversation recorded?

+

The audio is processed to generate a response in real time. This is a public demo rather than a private workspace, so treat it as you would any demo and avoid sharing confidential information during a session.

Why does it need microphone access?

+

It is a voice assistant, so it needs to hear you. Audio streams over WebRTC, which requires HTTPS. Your browser will ask before anything is captured, and denying it simply ends the demo.

Can I build this into my own product?

+

Yes. The real-time voice pipeline is available through the AvA SDK and API, with plugin access so the assistant can call your own tools rather than only talk. See the SDK and developer pages.

Is there an Android app?

+

Yes. AvA is available on Google Play as a full voice assistant on the device, rather than a browser demo. The link is above.

What if it gets something wrong?

+

It will, occasionally. This is a live model answering unrehearsed questions, not a scripted flow. In production deployments the assistant is scoped to a domain and given real tools, which removes most of the guesswork you may hear here.
